Great representation found on the website www.maritimecareers.com.sg, sent to me by a great friend.
Being a shipbuilding engineer (or naval architect), I am always keeping an eye on the industry.
I was taking a look at the pictures I took in 2004 in China, and decided to share this one with you. It was taken on the second day of the sea trials of the Messidor, the ship I helped build. The sea trials are an important event in shipbuilding. It means that the ship is mostly ready and all important systems are tested in real work conditions. It was a fascinating event, lasting more than three days at sea.
The new Mannheim Business School rooms in N2 still smell a bit after paint. This is a smell I am very familiar with, having spent months inspecting paint jobs in the building of the Messidor bulk carrier (picture)in Nantong, China. This smell actually reminds me of a very interesting phase of my life.
The other smells that evokes similar memories is the smell of steel grinding and welding. But I don't expect to find these smells in the business school
